In contrast the region is also home to many small artisan food producers, and it is the products they lovingly make that Northwest Hampers was set up to showcase.

Quick Navigation
The North West has always had a great manufacturing tradition; the great textile businesses of the 1900’s may have largely disappeared, but the North West is still renowned for its engineering, bio-medical and food and drink industries.
The North West is not only the country’s largest food and drink-producing region, it is home to the UK’s highest concentration of food and drink manufacturing businesses. Twenty of the world’s top 25 food manufacturers have a presence in the North West including Heinz (whose factory at Kitt Green near Wigan is the largest in Europe), Kellogg’s, United Biscuits, McVities, Nestlé, Fox’s, Princes Foods, Warburtons and Patak Foods.

Our Suppliers
Many of our suppliers are award winners and deservedly so. Many others are so busy they don’t even have time to enter award schemes. But everything we stock is of the very highest quality and we are pleased and proud to be able to give you the opportunity to try some of the very best from England’s North West.
We hope you enjoy our selection!
We don’t produce much in the way of champagne, port and wine, and don’t grow a great deal of (well none in fact!) tea or coffee or cocoa beans. But our wines are obtained from a local company employing local people and our coffee is roasted and blended and packed locally. Everything else is pretty much produced in the region.
Our aim is to bring to you some of the finest quality foods from across the North West - foods from the smaller manufacturers that you are unlikely to find on any supermarket shelves with possibly one or two exceptions where we’ve included North West products that have become almost iconic. Many of our suppliers are constrained by local deliveries and consequently limited to a small number of farm shops, delicatessens and farmer’s markets.
